Plant the tuber in a container without drainage holes using heavy clay or aquatic soil. Cover the soil with about an inch of sand to help keep it in place, leaving the growing tip slightly exposed. Submerge the container gradually, starting at around 1 foot deep and moving deeper as the plant grows. Add aquatic fertilizer tablets monthly during the growing season for healthy foliage and blooms.
