Great Laurel Rhododendron Live Bare Root Plant – Rhododendron maximum

Great Laurel Rhododendron Live Bare Root Plant – Rhododendron maximum

Rhododendron maximum, commonly known as Great Laurel or Rosebay Rhododendron, is a native evergreen shrub valued for its bold foliage and striking floral display. This broadleaf evergreen forms dense, thicket-like growth with multiple upright stems and large, leathery dark blue-green leaves.

In bloom, it produces large clusters of bell-shaped flowers ranging from white to soft purplish-pink, often with subtle spotting. These floral trusses add seasonal interest and make it a standout species in woodland and naturalized landscapes.

Great Laurel performs best in acidic, well-drained, organic-rich soil and is well suited for shaded or partially shaded environments such as forest edges, natural hedgerows, and native plant gardens. It is commonly used to support wildlife habitat due to its dense structure and sheltering growth habit.
