Grow one of the world’s most remarkable trees with this live Giant Sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) seedling from The Jonsteen Company. Also known as Sierra Redwood or Big Tree, the Giant Sequoia is famous for developing into one of the most massive and long-lived tree species on Earth.
Native to the western slopes of California’s Sierra Nevada mountains, Giant Sequoias are magnificent evergreen conifers recognized for their enormous mature size, cinnamon-red bark, and exceptional longevity. Ancient specimens can reach approximately 300 feet tall, develop trunks approaching 40 feet in diameter, and live for thousands of years.
Despite its limited native range, Giant Sequoia is a surprisingly adaptable species that can tolerate both cold winters and warm summers when provided with suitable growing conditions. This young seedling offers an opportunity to grow a truly extraordinary specimen tree for future generations.
