Grow a truly unique popcorn variety with Dakota Black Popcorn, an heirloom corn prized for its striking dark kernels, exceptional flavor, and reliable performance. One of the earliest maturing popcorn varieties available, Dakota Black produces 6–8 inch ears on sturdy 6-foot plants, making it an excellent choice for home gardeners and small-scale growers.

The glossy black kernels display a beautiful ruby-red shine when viewed in the light, creating an eye-catching harvest. When popped, the kernels transform into bright white popcorn with a small black hull attached. The flavor is rich, hearty, and crunchy—far more robust than many standard popcorn varieties. Its satisfying texture and depth of flavor make it enjoyable as a snack all on its own.

Originally developed by the Podoll family of Prairie Road Organic Farm in North Dakota, this variety has earned a reputation for productivity, early maturity, and outstanding eating quality. These organically grown seeds are carefully produced at Four Oak Farm in Santa Rosa, California.
