Back to buying optionsAurora Honeyberry Live Plant, 3 Year Old Gallon Grown Lonicera caerulea, Haskap Berry Bush, Cold Hardy Fruit Shrub
Grow a unique and exceptionally cold-hardy edible berry with this live Aurora Honeyberry plant (Lonicera caerulea), approximately 20–24 inches tall and established for about 3 years in a gallon-size growing container. Also known as Haskap or Blue Honeysuckle, honeyberries are prized for their elongated deep-blue fruit and distinctive sweet-tart flavor.
Aurora Honeyberry is an excellent choice for northern edible gardens, backyard orchards, berry patches, and home landscapes. The berries can be enjoyed fresh or used for jams, preserves, desserts, freezing, and other culinary applications.
Honeyberries bloom early in the season and require a compatible, genetically different honeyberry variety with overlapping bloom time for reliable cross-pollination and fruit production. Aurora should therefore be planted near a suitable pollination partner.
Plants may be dormant depending on the season. They are gallon-grown but shipped out of the pot with their roots wrapped and a minimal amount of growing medium for transportation.

💡 Care Tip: Plant your Aurora Honeyberry promptly after arrival and water thoroughly to help the roots establish. For fruit production, grow it near a compatible honeyberry variety that flowers at the same time, as two genetically different varieties are needed for effective cross-pollination. Space landscape plants approximately 4–7 feet apart. Honeyberries prefer cooler climates and can struggle with prolonged extreme summer heat. Afternoon shade is beneficial in Zone 8a, and Aurora is not recommended for hot Zone 9 southern coastal regions with prolonged temperatures above 90°F. Dormant plants may arrive without foliage depending on the season.
